Genshin Impact‘s vibrant world certainly became more color with the fiery archer (and resident pyromaniac), Yoimiya. As a 5-star Pyro archer, Yoimiya excels in the main DPS role, particularly against single targets due to her weapon and attacks and high normal attack damage. Our Yoimiya Genshin Impact guide will help you maximize Yoimiya’s potential by focusing on her artifacts, weapons, and skills.
Best Artifacts for Yoimiya
Choosing the right artifact sets in Genshin Impact is crucial for enhancing Yoimiya’s damage output. Here are the recommended artifact sets for her. You can mix and match some of them.
Crimson Witch of Flames
- 2-Piece Set: Pyro DMG Bonus +15%
- 4-Piece Set: Increases Overloaded and Burning DMG by 40%. Increases Vaporize and Melt DMG by 15%. Using an Elemental Skill increases 2-Piece Set effects by 50% for 10s. Max 3 stacks.
The most obvious choice for her is none other than the good old Crimson Witch of Flames which you probably already have if you farmed for Diluc or Klee. It’s Yoimiya’s most straightforward set though its use is more limited for Vaporize and Melt teams.
Shimenawa’s Reminiscense
- 2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.
- 4-Piece Set: Increases the attack bonus provided by the 2-Piece set by 50%. When casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy and Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s.
This is the set you want if you don’t want to pigeonhole your Yoimiya into Vape or Melt compositions. It was even made with her in mind since Yoimiya’s main mode of gameplay is spamming her Elemental Skill.
Artifact Stats to Prioritize
You’ll want these in order to build an optimal Yoimiya.
- Pyro DMG Bonus (Goblet)
- CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG (Circlet and substats)
- ATK% (Sands and substats)
- Energy Recharge (substats)
- Elemental Mastery (substats)
Yoimiya benefits greatly from Pyro DMG Bonus on her Goblet, as it boosts her overall damage. Prioritize CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG on the Circlet and substats, ensuring a balanced CRIT ratio.
ATK% is crucial for increasing her base damage, and Energy Recharge can help Yoimiya gain energy more quickly, allowing you to maximize Shimenawa’s Reminiscense. Elemental Mastery in substats can boost her elemental reaction damage.
Best Weapons for Yoimiya
Below are the best-in-slot weapons for Yoimiya. Number one is, of course, the most ideal though it’s also a rare weapon. We’ll be presenting some budget alternatives later.
- Thundering Pulse (5-Star)
- Increases Crit Rate by 20%. Hits have a 50% chance to deal an additional ATK DMG to enemies. This effect can only occur once every 4s.
- Rust (4-Star)
- Increases Normal Attack DMG by 40% but decreases Aimed Shot DMG by 10%.
- Aqua Simulacrum (5-Star)
- Increases Crit DMG by 20%. After defeating an opponent, the character receives an Elemental DMG Bonus of the element that was just defeated for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s.
Budget Alternatives
Of course, we’re not all lucky, so sometimes, you’ll have to settle for less with Yoimiya. And while these bows don’t offer the same level of damage as Thundering Pulse, they’re decent enough and you can even take them to the Spiral Abyss.
- Hamayumi (4-Star): Increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 16%.
- Compound Bow (4-Star): Normal Attacks have a 50% chance to generate a small amount of Cyclone, which will continuously attract surrounding enemies, dealing 40% of ATK as DMG to these enemies every 0.5s for 4s.
Skills Prioritization for Yoimiya
As with all Genshin Impact characters, Yoimiya is expensive to level up. Apart from the actual level, you also need to pump up Yoimiya’s moveset or skillset. So knowing which skills offer the most per level up is almost mandatory.
For Yoimiya, you’ll want this skill priority guide.
- Normal Attack – Firework Flare-Up:
- Prioritize leveling up Yoimiya’s normal attack as it is her primary source of damage.
- Elemental Skill – Niwabi Fire-Dance:
- Upgrade this skill next to boost normal, charged, and plunging attack damage.
- Elemental Burst – Ryuukin Saxifrage:
- Level up Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst last as it is her least impactful skill despite dealing AOE Pyro damage.
For gameplay, just use her Elemental Skill whenever you can and perform some normal attacks. That’s the gist.
Yoimiya Team Composition
Yoimiya works well in various team compositions. Here are some recommended teammates depending on her composition:
- Hydro Support Team:
- Yelan (for Vaporize) or Xingqiu (for Freeze)
- Additional Hydro character for elemental reactions.
- Electro Support Team:
- Fischl or Beidou (for Overload)
- Another Electro character for elemental reactions.
- Pyro Support Team:
- Shield and Healing Team:
Mastering Yoimiya’s playstyle revolves around unleashing her potent normal attacks, synergizing with her Elemental Skill for Pyro damage. Whether you’re aiming for the perfect 5-star weapons or exploring F2P alternatives, using our Yoimiya Genshin Impact guide to build her will ensure she dazzles on the battlefield brighter than a firework.
