With every new expansion of the Genshin Impact map, players get access to new areas inspired by distant nations and old cultures that would otherwise be inaccessible in real life. Add the co-op capabilities of the game to its beautiful locations and it just doesn’t make sense not to take photos throughout the world of Teyvat with your friends. That’s why we’ve put together a list of all the scenic spots to take pictures at in Genshin Impact.
The Best Places to Take Pictures in Monstadt
1. Venti’s Statue and Monstadt Cathedral
The city of Monstadt is filled with spots where you can sit down and take photos with friends. Angel’s Share, Cat’s Tail Tavern, and the library at the Favonius Knight’s headquarters are all great for taking group photos. But if you want to get a more stunning view of Monstadt in the background, you can head up to Venti’s statue which sits in front of Monstadt Cathedral. The statue’s hands can fit multiple characters at once and you can also sit on the edge of his fingers, but only one character can do so at a time.
Once you’re done snapping pics at the statue, you can enter the cathedral and take photos in front of the stained glass windows. Or heck, climb up the cathedral exterior to get a photo at the bell tower that overlooks the city.
2. Starsnatch Cliff
Starsnatch Cliff is a popular date spot for Monstadt locals that offers spectacular views of the entire region. You can pan your camera around and get several of Monstadt’s most recognizable locations in your photo’s background. Visible from the cliff are Monstadt City, Dragonspine, and Stormbearer Point. While you’re there, don’t forget to equip your seed dispensary and pick up the Cecilias that grow on the trail up to the cliff’s summit.
3. Dawn Winery
Dawn Winery doesn’t have as many grapevine fields as you’d expect, but it’s a relaxing place to hang out because of the area’s signature background music. You can take photos in the vineyard before entering the manor that sits in the middle of the area. While you’re not going to find Diluc there, unless there’s an event or quest that keeps him visible in the overworld, there are tons of antiques to take photos with inside the house.
4. The Camp At the Base of Dragonspine
Dragonspine is an obvious pick for a scenic spot to take a photo at in Genshin Impact, but a more underrated photo op spot is the camp outside of it. If you teleport to the camp, you can make a turn up the cliff to get a view of Dragonspine and the Statue of the Seven near its summit.
Now you’re probably thinking ‘Why the camp instead of the mountain itself?’ and the answer to that is if you take your photo from the top of Dragonspine, all you see is fog.
5. The Border of Monstadt and Liyue
The border between Monstadt and Liyue lies just outside the other side of Dragonspine. You can also reach it by walking from Dawn Winery and crossing the river. Just walk straight until you see the yellow trees in Liyue or hear the music transition from Monstadt’s background tracks to Liyue’s background tracks. Visible from the border are Dragonspine, Guyun Stone Forest, Luhua Pool, and Wangshu Inn.
Speaking of Wangshu Inn, that brings us to the best spots for snapping photos in Liyue.
The Best Places to Take Pictures in Liyue
1. Wangshu Inn
Wangshu Inn is one of the first major locations players reach when they enter Liyue. The bright red structure towers over the expanse of Dihua Marsh. If you take the elevator up to the top, or just teleport there, you can take a photo with your friends under the orange boughs of the tree that the inn is built on. The observation deck offers a panoramic view of Liyue where you can see Liyue Harbor, the Jade Chamber, Guyun Stone Forest, Jueyun Karst, and Qingce Village.
2. Mt. Aocang
Mt. Aocang and its general location, Huagang Stone Forest, are one of the most reality-rooted locations on the entire map. Huagang Stone Forest exists in real life as Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. While you’re not likely to find Zhongli’s table in Zhangjiajie, you can still get a photo of yourself among its mystical-looking peaks to match the photo you take of your character in Huagang Stone Forest.
3. Luhua Pool
Luhua pool is one of the least visited areas of the game because of how rare it is for events and quests to take place there. It’s a shame because it’s one of the most breathtaking locations in Liyue. Based on Huanglong River in Sichuan Province, the crystal blue stepped pools of the area were chosen for the game because of their “dreamlike” appearance.
There’s a ruin in the area where you and your friends can stand at to get a photo with Luhua Pool in the background.
4. Qingce Village
A favorite among Travelers, Qingce Village is a quiet pocket of the Liyue map with golden terraces that look stunning up close and from afar. Even the walk to get there is scenic. If you teleport in from the teleporter just outside town, you can take a slow walk through a bamboo forest to get to Qingce Village’s gate.
If you want to take photos at Qingce Village in real life, you’ll have to go to Honghe Hani Rice Terraces in the summer which is the season when its rice fields turn gold and orange just as they are in the game.
5. The Jade Chamber
Have you really been to Liyue if you don’t have a photo at the Jade Chamber? This iconic location has seared itself into Genshin players’ collective consciousness because of the role it plays in multiple quests and its powerful owner, Tianquan Ningguang of the Liyue Qixing.
The floating palace commands a view of Liyue Harbor and the Sea of Clouds, so if you go there to take photos, you should also jump off and snap a few photos while gliding.
6. Liyue Harbor
You can spend hours just taking photos at Liyue Harbor. There are the docks, Yunjing Terrace, Wanmin Restaurant, Xinyue Kiosk, and the Golden House to take photos at. If you want to get the entire city in one photo, though, you’ll want to teleport just outside of Liyue Harbor’s gate and take your photo from the cliff facing the city so you can get the Jade Chamber in the shot.
The Best Places to Take Pictures in Inazuma
1. Kanjou Commission Headquarters, Ritou Island
Tenshukaku and the Kamisato Estate are both stunning, but the Kanjou Commission Headquarters is an underrated spot in Inazuma for taking pictures. It doesn’t look impressive right away, but if you go into camera mode and start tweaking the angles, you’ll find that area offers moody views of the Inazuma landscape. Aside from this maple tree-lined path to the Statue of the Seven behind the house, try snapping a photo in the hallway that faces the Ritou harbor at around sunset or sunrise.
2. Grand Narukami Shrine
Look familiar? That’s because Grand Narukami Shrine’s path of torii gates is based on Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Shrine which you’ve likely seen Japan travel guides. The shrine itself is a beautiful spot for taking photos and the sakura tree at the back of it even more so.
3. Chinju Forest
Don’t teleport straight into Kamisato Estate. Chinju Forest, which is located outside the estate, is a fantastic spot for taking photos because of the glowing blue flowers that give it an otherworldly look.
4. Inazuma City
Inazuma City is packed with photo-worthy spots. This bridge flanked by cherry trees frames Tenshukaku perfectly in the distance. Just behind the camera in this shot is a stall that sells sweets and milk tea where you and your friends can sit down for a photo. A second bridge after this bridge offers a view of the palace and the Statue of the Omnipresent God.
If you’re in the city, stop by Komore Teahouse and sit at the traditional Japanese tables at Taroumaru’s cafe.
5. Sangonomiya Shrine
Sangonomiya Shrine is home to the priestesses of Watatsumi Island and its leader, Sangonomiya Kokomi. It’s the only location on the entire map that’s this pink and the massive shells that jut out around the shrine make it a beautiful place for a picture.
The Best Places to Take Pictures in Sumeru
1. The Palace of Alcazarzaray
The Palace of Alcazarzaray is located outside of the major cities of Sumeru, but it’s worth stopping by for a picture since you get a, well, picturesque view of the palace, its pavilion, and a waterfall in the background.
2. Mawtiyima Forest
Think Chinju Forest but with more drama. Instead of trees, this forest is packed with oversized bioluminescent mushrooms. The mushrooms have areas beneath them that serve as a viewing deck for the surrounding forest. The area’s surreal blue glow makes it a good spot for photo-taking.
3. Apam Woods
There are several areas in the Apam Woods to take beautiful photos at. You can stick to the treetops and take photos of the forest’s landscape or get closer to the Varuna Contraption which looks like a glowing tree stump. If you’re in the mood to go exploring, there’s also an unmarked area in the woods where you can take photos with glowing white lilies similar to the ones in Chinju Forest.
4. The House of Daena, Sumeru City
The House of Daena isn’t the most lively spot in Sumeru City and the students at the Akademiya might not be too happy at a Traveler disturbing them, but the Moorish architecture of the library makes it one of the most distinctive locations on the map. Unlike a lot of video game locations where your awe goes away the more you inspect it, the awe just increases with the House of Daena. Its arches, inlaid floors, and oddly cozy marble niches make it great for photo-taking sessions.
5. Port Ormos
Liyue Harbor is beautiful but what it doesn’t have is a central bridge that commands a view of the entire port. To get a view like that, you’ll have to head to Port Ormos. You can snap pics from the bridge, on the boats in the dock, or at the top of Pharos Lighthouse to get the most impressive views of the area.
6. The Mausoleum of King Deshret
The Mausoleum of King Deshret doesn’t command a view, it is the commanding view. Inspired by the pyramids of Giza, the Mausoleum of King Deshret is a breathtaking yet ominous structure that’s comparable to Enkanomiya in Inazuma. Unlike Enkanomiya where it’s clear that there was once a civilization there, the Mauseoleum’s surrounding area doesn’t give away its secrets easily.
