Orbs are the only way you can progress in Tacticus, as without them, your characters will be stuck at whatever rarity they begin with. Once your roster starts getting bigger, you’ll find that orbs are getting more and more scarce as you work on leveling all of your characters. Often, you’ll have to decide between leveling one character or another.
If you’re low on orbs and struggling to find more, here’s a quick guide on all the different places within Tacticus you can use to get more. Luckily, orbs can be gotten for free, so you won’t have to dig out your wallet to get them. There are, of course, different ways you can pay money to get orbs, but you’ll get most of them for free.
Requisition Scrolls
Requisition scrolls might just be the easiest way to get orbs, but it is certainly the most expensive. It is random, so this isn’t a surefire way of getting the faction-specific orbs you need, let alone rarity. Still, you’ll get a decent amount of orbs from opening requisition scrolls in Tacticus. Reqs are pretty rare later on in the game, so savor the ones you get. Requisition scrolls can sometimes be found through in-game Tacticus promo codes, so check those out too. There are even orbs on some occasions.
Crafting Through the Forge

Arguably the worst way to get orbs, but it can be done this way. The Forge was recently added and allows players to convert badges and orbs into ones of a higher rarity. You’ll need 10 orbs of the previous rarity and a Forge Token of the rarity you want in order to do this. For example, if you need a Rare Imperial Orb, you’ll have to cough up 10 Uncommon Imperial Orbs, a Rare Forge Token, and some coins.
This is the worst way to get orbs because of how costly it is. To get 1 Legendary Orb, you’ll need 10 Epic Orbs and a Legendary Forge Token, which isn’t easy to come by. Compare this to Guild Raids, which we will discuss a bit later. Guild Raids guarantee 1 Legendary Orb at Epic and Legendary Bosses. Why bother with The Forge at that point? Unless you’re a whale that’s swimming in tokens, orbs, and coins, avoid this method.
Arena

At the end of the Arena Season, you’ll get a crate with various rewards depending on your place in the leaderboards. This crate is filled with different goodies like Blackstone, shards, raid tickets, upgrades, and more. But more importantly, it has orbs. Depending on your League and position, these orbs vary in amount and rarity, but it’s an easy way to get a couple more orbs a month. It doesn’t sound like much, but it adds up over time.
Onslaught
Onslaught is an easy way to get a chance at an orb every 16 hours. At the end of an Onslaught, you’ll get a chance to pick a character and receive shards, orbs, and badges. These vary in amount and percentage, but you can easily farm Legendary Orbs this way. It should be said that the end of Onslaught rewards are best used on characters you cannot farm elsewhere in the game, but if you’re in a pinch and need orbs, feel free to use whoever.
Guild Raids and Shop
This is perhaps the best way to get orbs in Tacticus. Guild Raids offer a routine and reliable way of getting every orb rarity in the game. Common bosses will award Uncommon Orbs upon death, Uncommon will award Rare Orbs, Rare will award Epic Orbs, and Epic/Legendary will award Legendary Orbs. Joining a competitive guild is essential to maximizing the rewards from Guild Raids. Community Discords like Pants of Horrus are a great place to start and find a guild that will help you maximize your potential.
In the end, if you’re looking for the best way to get orbs in Tacticus, you should focus on Guild Raids, Onslaught, and climbing the ladder in Arena. You should be doing all three of these things regardless in-game, so if you’re low on orbs, just give it a bit, and you’ll have some eventually. Onslaught is the only way to pinpoint which type of orbs you need, so if you’re really fiending for some Rare Imperial Orbs or whatever, try your luck there.
