With the sheer number of enemies who have Quantum set as one of their potential weaknesses for you to encounter, having a Quantum Honkai: Star Rail character on your team is an assurance that you’re likely to have someone to trigger Break with. It certainly doesn’t hurt that Quantum is home to some of the coolest and strongest characters in the game.
What is Quantum Element and Quantum Damage in Honkai: Star Rail?

Quantum is one of two elements in Honkai: Star Rail to not have a natural equivalent. It is accompanied by Imaginary, another non-natural element. The two elements are among the few to have unique DoT effects.
For most of Honkai: Star Rail’s elements, dealing DoT is just dealing different types of the same damage. Fire, Wind, Lightning, and, to a degree, Ice are all just different colored Physicals. Except Ice prevents an enemy action, Imaginary delays the enemy’s turn and reduces speed, while Quantum delays an enemy’s turn and deals DoT.
Because Quantum damage can delay an enemy’s turn, it can be a powerful element for maximizing your damage with the turns you take while denying an opponent the same opportunity.
Quantum Element Relic Sets
There are two Relic sets in HSR that you can use for characters to make the most of their Quantum damage. The first option is Genius of Brilliant Stars, the only Quantum damage-increasing Relic set in the game. The second is a general-use Relic set called Thief of Shooting Meteor that increases the Break effect.
Genius of Brilliant Stars
The Genius of Brilliant Stars set can be obtained from the Path of Providence, a Cavern of Corrosion located in Everwinter Hill.
- 2-Piece Set: Increases Quantum DMG by 10%.
- 4-Piece Set: When the wearer deals DMG to the target enemy, ignores 10% DEF. If the target enemy has Quantum Weakness, the wearer additionally ignores 10% DEF.
The Genius of Brilliant Stars set includes the following Relic pieces:
- Genius’ Ultraremote Sensing Visor
- Genius’s Frequency Catcher
- Genius’s Metafield Suit
- Genius’s Gravity Walker
Thief of Shooting Meteor
The Thief of Shooting Meteor set can be obtained from the Path of Jabbing Punch, a Cavern of Corrosion located in the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone.

- Thief’s Meteor Boots
Quantum Element Characters in Honkai: Star Rail

1. Seele (The Hunt, 5-star)
The combination of Seele’s element, Path, and kit makes it feel like her turn never really ends. Seele is a top-tier DPS who deals a turn of damage in her own turn, delays the enemy’s turn, then comes back to take another turn with her Resurgence skill.

2. Silver Wolf (The Nihility, 5-star)
Much like Seele, Silver Wolf benefits from the combination of her Path and element. As a Nihility character, she weakens enemies to enable her team to deal more damage against enemies.
3. Qingque (The Erudition, 4-star)
As the only existing 4-star Quantum character as of the 1.1 patch, Qingque is many people’s only Quantum character. While her mahjong theme of playing gacha with her own damage looks like a joke, her damage most certainly is not.
