One of the toughest challenges you can face right now in Honkai: Star Rail– apart from waiting for mommy/slavemaster Kafka, is Herta’s Simulated Universe. It’s meant to be a weekly activity where you can test your mettle and your team’s readiness in facing the Aeons.
Come World 3 and above, you can increase the difficulty level for the Simulated Universe, leading to tougher challenges and higher rewards (damn you, Herta). The first two Worlds, of course, are just cakewalks. We’ll be focusing on the actual challenging parts, starting with World 3.
So we’ll be giving you team compositions in Honkai: Star Rail that can help you finally get past those pesky Simulated Universe bosses like Gepard, Mr. Svarog, and even Kafka, all the way up to Cocolia.
World 3 Team Compositions – Gepard (Boss)
For World 3, you’ll be facing a ‘roided version of Gepard as the final boss. But he has a few notable weaknesses based on Elements:
- Weak to Lightning
- Weak to Physical
- Weak to Imaginary
As of now, Welt is the only Imaginary damage dealer in the game (and the upcoming Luocha at the time of writing) and he’s a 5-star so not exactly feasible. It’s best to just skip Imaginary damage. So you probably know already which teams will fold this Belobog boy scout. Here’s a good team that covers all bases:
Jing Yuan/Serval – Tingyun – Sushang/Trailblazer (Physical) – Natasha
Jing Yuan or Serval will make quick work of minions while Sushang is there to focus on single-target DPS and remove big chunks of Gepard’s HP. It’s understandable if you don’t have Sushang since she’s somewhat rare, just replace her with the default Trailblazer.
Meanwhile, Natasha will heal and remove any status effect on your characters. As for Tingyun, she will buff and ensure that anyone who needs to cast their Ultimate as often as possible gets to do so thanks to her Ultimate which gives Energy.
Here’s another team that’s more premium for those of you who got lucky:
Seele – Silver Wolf – Tingyun – Bailu
There’s no Physical Element here but that doesn’t matter because Silver Wolf will force the Quantum Element Weakness on Gepard or whoever. After that, it’s up to Seele to make quick work of the enemies.
Bailu will keep the team safe while Tingyun will keep Seele happy and energetic.
World 4 Team Compositions – Mr. Svarog (Boss)
World 4 is a little tougher and it’s notorious for featuring an angrier Mr. Svarog. He’s not so tough, however, once you find out his weaknesses, apart from Clara‘s foot parasites:
With those weaknesses in mind, you’d want to have a team that looks like our suggestion below, or preferably something identical.
Dan Heng – Hook/Asta/Trailblazer (Fire) – Jing Yuan/Serval – Natasha
While Mr. Svarog can summon robotic minions, they’re easy enough to dispatch– just focus on the exploding arm robots to take out the others. So the Erudition Path characters are not as crucial here.
What’s crucial here is Natasha since she has an ascension ability that allows her to clear up status effects. Mr. Svarog is nasty for his imprisonment ability and Natasha is a good answer here.
Other than that, the playstyle is standard enough. Use the Fire Element characters to trigger Weakness Breaks, Dan Heng to take big chunks of HP, and Serval or Jing Yuan to clean up the minions.
Again, if you managed to get Silver Wolf, Seele, and Bailu, you can also run the Quantum-Lightning team against Mr. Svarog, which will perform admirably.
World 5 Team Compositions – Kafka (Boss)
Here’s Kafka, ready to torture the players once more. She’s one of the game’s toughest fights, not just in the Simulated Universe. So you’ll need to be careful and prepared here. Like all bosses, she has her own weaknesses:
Again, we’re going to have to skip Imaginary damage since the sources are scarce. Luckily, there are good Physical damage dealers in the game, and they make for a competitive team:
Clara/Sushang/Trailblazer (Physical) – Dan Heng – Natasha – March 7th/Gepard
Clara is stellar here especially when paired with March 7th’s Skill and Natasha’s healing. She’ll draw Kafka’s aggression while also retaliating. Meanwhile, Dan Heng is free to sneak up behind Kafka and poke her for some meaty damage. Okay, stay with me here.
But then again, we don’t all have Clara, so you’ll have to make changes. Sushang is a good alternative but don’t give her March 7th’s shield as she’ll draw enemy fire. As a last resort, the default Trailblazer is what you’re left with if you’re looking for a Physical DPS.
World 6 Team Compositions – Cocolia (Boss)
Finally, the toughest boss in the Simulated Universe, Cocolia. She’s a handful, and she’s also highly resistant to a couple of common status effects. So this is mostly a DPS race before she can perform her area nuke, which can wipe out your entire team if you’re unlucky.
Cocolia is luckily weak against:
You have some common choices here for Eruditon, but the Hunt damage choices are limited since Seele is the only single-target Hunt DPS. So you’ll have to be extra careful if you don’t have Seele. In any case, you can try out these teams below.
Trailblazer (Fire)/Hook – Seele/Qingque – Tingyun – Natasha/Bailu
If you have Hook, you can get by without Seele; just replace her spot with Qingque for some AoE damage and buffs.
But if you have Seele, you’ll want to opt for Trailblazer (Fire) instead of Hook so she can draw Cocolia’s attention. Tingyun is a good Lightning DPS backup and damage buffer, while Bailu can heal while also breaking Weaknesses. You can safely replace Bailu with Natasha (beggars can’t be choosers).
Best Blessing – Path of the Hunt
Due to the random nature of the buffs or Blessings in the Simulated Universe, it’s hard to recommend something that might fail due to RNG; but generally, you’d want to pick The Path of the Hunt as your main Blessing pool of choice.
It provides some monstrous damage boosts for your single-target DPS characters while also giving you an AoE attack from time to time. Elation is also good while Preservation is ideal for keeping things under control or stalling enemies.
