Honkai: Star Rail update 1.1 was quite the ride, but it’s now time to move forward with fresh new content. Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 is right around the corner, and it’s bound to be full of pleasant surprises. Just so you know what to expect, we’ve compiled some somewhat reliable Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 leaks.
These mostly contain data-mined or speculated information regarding the new characters, Light Cones, and possibly fresh events that the new update has in store. As always, take these Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 leaks with a grain of salt. Some of them are subject to change based on HoYoVerse’s whims.
Without further ado, here’s what you can expect in Honkai: Star Rail 1.2.
Never Fear, Mommy Kafka is Here (For Phase 1)
Finally, your lonely hearts can cease to ache in the absence of one of the most enigmatic and essential characters in the Honkai: Star Rail Warp banners. Kafka is finally coming as a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail 1.2, possibly slated for Phase 1 of the featured Warp banner.
This leak info comes from a promising community leaker named ‘Team China.’ So far, their leaks have been accurate and correct.
As most of you remember, Kafka is one of the leaders and prominent figureheads of the Stellaron Hunters and the one partially responsible for the attack on Herta Space Station. She’s also technically the “creator” of the player’s Trailblazer character, making her the unofficial “mother” figure in the eyes of many players.
In any case, Kafka has already had her notable abilities and playstyle or combat role revealed in the prologue. Those likely won’t change, and she’ll remain as is:
- The Nihility Path (similar to Silver Wolf and Welt, making Kafka a crowd control support)
- Lightning Damage
Kafka will also be using her signature twin guns as her weapons. As for her playstyle, she seems to thrive on supporting characters (like Sampo) who deal damage-over-time effects per turn.
Blade is Making a Sharp Turn (For Phase 2)
As we mentioned before in prior leak info articles, the Kafka Krew is coming along nicely in Honkai: Star Rail. In Honkai: Star Rail 1.2, HoYoVerse is expected to bring along Blade after Kafka’s Warp banner expires.
This info is based on leaks as well as HoYoVerse’s drip marketing which has been going on since May 2022.
Blade wasn’t made available in a trial gameplay during the storyline, but he’s one of the key characters in the Xianzhou Alliance questline. Jing Yuan notably captured him, and Kafka managed to help him escape. Now, Blade is coming back to be a playable character for anyone lucky enough to roll for him in Phase 2 of Honkai: Star Rail 1.2
On May 24, 2022, Blade was announced as a character, and a day later, HoYoVerse officially confirmed that he would be playable.
As for Blade’s role and Element, he’s quite the handful:
- The Destruction Path (mix of DPS and tank, like Physical Trailblazer)
- Wind Damage
Anyone who wants a solid bruiser or damage dealer on their team will find Blade an appealing character. He’s like a tankier and edgier version of Dan Heng.
Blade is bound to be an interesting addition to any player’s character roster since his playstyle revolves around sacrificing his own health or HP in order to advance his actions forward and ‘cheat’ his way into the turn queue. He also gains a damage buff in proportion to his missing HP.
Luka is The New 4-Star
Whether you see him as a free consolation or a target husbando in the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail 1.2, Luka is apparently here to stay permanently.
He’s the new 4-star character that will come in a rate-up for the featured Warp banner either in Phase 1 with Kafka or Phase 2 with Blade.
Unlike those two, Luka wasn’t prominently featured in the main story or quest. But players actually got to see him beforehand in a Light Cone art, specifically ‘Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat.’
Luka is a one-armed character whose right arm was replaced by a machine limb, and he mostly hangs around the rough and rowdy corners of the Belobog Underworld, participating in fight clubs. He’s thus a champion fighter and a member of the Wildfire group.
As for his role in combat, here they are:
- The Nihility Path
- Physical Damage
He’s mostly a support that deals crowd control damage, but that might change at the last minute. Like most new characters who are getting introduced, you can also expect a brief introductory quest for Luka.
Also, these new characters will presumably be accompanied by their own Light Cones, which will be released alongside them in the Warp banner.
Possible New Boss and Changes for Honkai: Star Rail 1.2
Apparently, HoyoVerse has announced a Special Program in advance in order to reveal information and the official Warp banners regarding Honkai: Star Rail 1.2. The Special Program is called “Even Immortality Ends.”
Furthermore, it’s not just character banners you can expect but also some important gameplay changes that might address some player base issues.
More importantly, a new weekly boss has been leaked. This time, the enemy is from the Xianzhou Luofu region, meaning there could also be an accompanying quest or event to unlock the boss. The new boss also presumably drops materials for the upcoming and suggested new characters.
The Special Program is slated for July 8, 2023, at 19:30 (UTC+8). Be sure to tune in to get an idea and confirmation of what you can expect in the upcoming and rather exciting Honkai: Star Rail 1.2.
As for Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 and its official release date, you can expect it soon after Luocha’s Warp banner expires, which is around July 19, 2023. It’s still a tentative release date, of course.
