Weโd be lying if we said we werenโt excited about Final Fantasy XIV’s (FFXIV) Patch 6.45, slated to come out on 18th July 2023. To add to that excitement, Square Enix has released a lot of new information and accompanying screenshots on their official site to gear us up for what’s to come next. Here’s everything we know so far about this new patch for FFXIV.
New Variant Dungeon: Mount Rokkon
Mount Rokkon will be the second Variant Dungeon release after The Sil’dihn Subterrane, an experience fondly remembered by some for the variation in play routes and, of course, the mount drop at the end of it all.
As with The Sil’dihn Subterrane, players can queue either solo or in a group of up to 4 people and have access to special variant actions inside the dungeon (choosable from the Variant & Criterion Dungeon Finder.) The same pattern of lore log entries and the choose-your-own-adventure style dungeoneering is also something we can look forward to experiencing once more.
According to the official site, Mount Rokkon, located on the Isle of Shishu in western Hingashi, was once a refuge for tired pilgrims and monks. However, in recent times, it is said to harbor hostile and evil spirits, making the place functionally uninhabitable.
On 12th May 2023, we received a sneak peek of a menacing yet adorable mount during the live FINAL FANTASY XIV Letter from the Producer, which could be the possible reward for completing the lore log entries for this dungeon. Thereโs also talk of a ninja dog minion reward, so keep an eye out for that!
Criterion Dungeon: Another Mount Rokkon / Another Mount Rokkon (Savage)
Itching for a more challenging dungeon experience? Criterion Dungeons have got you covered once more. With the release of Mount Rokkon, we will also be getting the corresponding Criterion and Criterion (Savage) difficulties to play around with.
The Chimera-like mount showcased alongside what seems to be one of the Mount Rokkon bosses is likely a reward from the Savage version.
A Much-Awaited Blue Mage Update!
At last! The much-awaited level cap increase for Blue Mage is finally here! New spells, new job quests from Martin, hopefully, new Masked Carnivale targets, and most importantly, new glam for all you Blue Magic enthusiasts out there!
Manderville Weapon Enhancement Quests
Truly, there is no escaping the Mandervilles! 6.45 brings us a continuation of Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures, as well as a new questline involving that involves Godbert Manderville discovering another secret ancestral smithing technique. He is prepared to upgrade those Manderville Weapons and Splendorous Tools even further and bring out their true potential!
New Emote!
6.45 also brings us what seems to be an โInstructโ emote. From the screenshots revealed to us, we can see the Warrior(s) of Light (WoL) holding what seems to be a textbook of sorts in one hand while pointing a finger with the other. It can serve as the perfect tool for roleplaying (RP) enthusiasts and will be a cool addition to the ever-growing list of emotes available in-game.
Upcoming Patches and Future Updates
The next FFXIV Letter from the Producer LIVE will take place at the Fan Festival 2023 in Las Vegas, which will probably reveal to us more about patch 6.5 onwards. Check it out on 29th July at 10:00 (PDT), 17:00 (GMT), or 30th July at 3:00 (AEST.)
Happy gaming!
