She’s iconic. She’s the moment. Let’s go, Barbie!
The iconic Barbie (2023) movie from Warner Bros. and Mattel is all about our childhood dolls coming to life. And while we had numerous Barbie animated movies, this is the first live-action depiction to hit the screen with its bright pink awesomeness.
Plus, from what we have gathered from the movie’s official trailers, the film’s director, Greta Gerwig, has added every bit of stylish oomph, bright hues, and so much pink that your eyes will detect no other color post-watching!
After 2 teaser trailers and 1 official trailer, we simply can’t wait for the movie to hit the theatres on 21st July 2023! But there’s a treat for a few who will get to attend the “Barbie Blowout Party!” early screening on 19th July.
What’s the plot of Barbie (2023)?

Back in December 2022, we got Warner Bros. Pictures‘ 1st teaser trailer for Barbie. Margot Robbie graced the screen as the first-ever curly-haired Barbie as the Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss played in the background.
And while that trailer didn’t shed an iota of light on the story, the 2nd teaser trailer and the main trailer clarified the plot further.
As for the story, the utopian Barbieland is perfection redefined. In this live-action movie, we are introduced to Barbie (Margot Robbie), who glides down graciously from her Dreamhouse roof to her C1 Corvette.
Every day is a party where all the Barbies and Kens meet at the beach, splash out, and enjoy the sunset. As night falls, there are blowout parties with marvelous music and songs playing, while everyone performs choreographed dance routines.
Sounds perfect isn’t it? But soon Barbie (Robbie) goes through a slight existential crisis and asks her friends, “Do you guys ever think about dying?”
She sees massive changes in her life, deemed impossible for the seamless life she leads. For example, her classic high-heeled feet suddenly fall flat. She no longer glides down and experiences cold showers!

Such “realistic” endeavors do not feel right, and she is soon expelled from Barbieland due to her imperfections. Hence begins her journey to the real world along with Ken (Ryan Gosling) to find more humane aspects of existence.
But this is just the tip of the lore iceberg as the main trailer also teased the CEO of Mattel, Will Farrel, on a hunt to find the Barbie that escaped its “box.”
