From Clutter to Clarity: The Beauty of Minimalism

Last year, I was drowning in a sea of stuff. My room was a cluttered mess and I just couldn’t think straight. I knew I had to do something about it, so I set aside a whole day to tackle the mess.

It took me a whopping seven hours to clean up my room and get rid of all the unnecessary stuff, especially on my desk.

The Psychology Behind Clutter

In 2011, neuroscience researchers conducted a study and found that people with cluttered homes and workplaces had a harder time focusing and processing information.

On the other hand, having a clean and organized work-from-home space can make all the difference. You know exactly where everything is, so you can get straight to work.

The Process of Decluttering

Decluttering is actually a process that one must face and understand deeply. So here are some tips for doing so effectively:

Setting Decluttering Goals

Figure out what you want to achieve. Do you want to declutter a specific room? Or do you want to tackle your entire house?

Come up with a plan. Break your goal down into smaller, more manageable tasks. This will make it easier to tackle your decluttering project.

Make it fun. Decluttering doesn’t have to be a chore. Try turning on some music or inviting a friend over to help.
