Record-breaking, former boy band member Harry Styles, has quickly erupted to even more fame than he had experienced while in the group One Direction. Making history with 15 sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden and beating out Sir Elton John and Mark Ronson for longest-running number one by a British artist on the US Hot 100, Styles has shown just what he’s capable of.
With three hit albums in his six-year solo career, he has enough songs to almost satisfy fans. The fans are however on the hunt and ready for more music, as they turn up unreleased songs, some of which Styles has performed live.
Here are seven tracks that have never been commercially released.
“Medicine”
Although “Medicine” was never released, its studio version was leaked, and Styles has performed it at countless shows, making it a favorite among many fans. Hailed as a “bisexual anthem,” Styles addresses sexual fluidity and experimentation with the lyrics “The boys and the girls are in, I mess around with them, and I’m okay with it.”
Radio personality Howard Stern told Styles in an interview that fans feel “Medicine” is “an anthem for fans who are thinking about coming out,” adding that Styles creates a space for fans to be their authentic self.
Styles replied, “It’s definitely about feeling like there’s a space where people feel safe enough to kind of share, have those big moments, and share them with a group of people.”
The sultry and mystical song was meant to be on Styles’ debut self-titled album in 2017, but he decided against it because he thought its sound was too similar to other songs on the album. He also chose not to include it on his next two albums, “Fine Line” and “Harry’s House,” because he feels it doesn’t portray the current sound he’s going for, though he says he is still open to the possibility of releasing it in the future.
Released or not, “Medicine” is a fun anthem that makes fans feel even more welcome in being who they are.
Favorite Lyric:
“I’m here to take my medicine, take my medicine

And when I sleep I’m gonna dream of how you tasted”
“Hunger”
“Hunger” is another song with a lack of information, although it is rumored to have been a demo written by Styles while in One Direction. The song has never been performed, but the full song was leaked in 2022 with demos “Without You,” “Already Home,” “Lay Down,” and “Trouble,” along with songs “Complicated Freak, Baby Honey, Anna, and Medicine.”
Styles reflects on an ending relationship, recalling when they used to only want each other, but now that they’re apart, he’s empty. The mournful lyrics accompany Styles’ emotional vocals, invoking his doleful heartbreak.
Favorite Lyric:
“Guess I’m prone to overthinking, One thing goes wrong and I can’t adjust, I lost the taste for the good in us, And I’m sorry”
Unlike “Medicine,” the song “Complicated Freak” has never been performed live, leaving fans only to have heard it via the leaked studio version. Although there isn’t a lot of information on this song, it appears to have been meant for his self-titled debut, along with “Medicine” and soon-to-be-mentioned “Baby Honey.” Likely recorded in 2017, the song was leaked in 2022, along with “Baby Honey,” “Anna,” and “Medicine.”
The guitar-driven melody provides a space for Styles to create lustful energy with his lyrics.
Favorite Lyric:
“Turned up late one too many times
Bad choice of words in my alibi
Guess I love crazy, out of your mind
You lost your head, so I’ll give you mine”
“Anna”
Like “Medicine,” “Anna” is the only other song on this list that Styles has performed live. Rumored to have been destined for his 2019 album “Fine Line,” Styles performed the song in the second leg of his first tour, Live on Tour. Although the instrumentals sound light and cheerful, the lyrics have Styles admitting to still being enamored with someone he’s no longer with.
There’s a studio version and a live version; the latter of the two references a line from George Michael’s’ “Faith,” singing, “Well, I guess it would be nice if I could touch your body.”
Another song intended for Styles’ self-titled debut, “Baby Honey,” has never been performed, though Styles did register “Baby Honey” with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.
The upbeat instrumentation guides Styles as he sings about an infatuation he just can’t get over.
The title of the song was first revealed via a photo of Styles’ Casebook CD, also including “Medicine” and “Complicated Freak.”
Not much is known about this track, but the full song was leaked in 2022.
Favorite Lyric:
“Oh I know he’s got the money
Baby honey, does he make your night?
Is it true he doesn’t touch you in the place the way I know you like
And I swear that I’m not thinking about you all the time
Just today, yesterday, every day, and tomorrow night.”
“Him”
Also released in the 2022 leaks, “Him” is a soft and emotional ballad, accentuated by Styles’ strong vocals that lament over hearing about his ex’s new man.
Favorite Lyric:
“So I don’t want to hear about him,
How he’s holding you better at night,
I don’t want to hear about him,
And these songs you continue to write,
I was with you when you wrote that line,
It was me that you had on your mind”
Styles’ versatility, from singing catchy melodies to crooning over dejected verses, shows in these unreleased tracks. While there isn’t a whole lot of information on them, it seems that Styles preferred other sounds that are present on the songs that made it onto his albums.
