The dating reality show Love Is Blind brings singles together in “pods,” allowing the men and women to talk…but not see each other. That is until the couples get engaged. A vacation follows the engagement, where the drama can get even worse. And then there are the weddings — will they say I do? Some do, and some don’t. Some don’t even make it to the altar.
These conditions are bound to cause drama. Here are five of the most unhinged Love Is Blind moments.
When Jessica kissed Amber S01 E09

The love triangle of season one included Barnett, Amber, Jessica, and, well, I guess Mark? Even though Barnett and Jessica had a strong connection in the pods, Barnett ends up proposing to Amber (who says yes), and Mark proposes to Jessica (who also says yes.)
While it seems the love triangle should end there, it doesn’t. Although Jessica claims to love Mark, her actions show that she’s still hung up on Barnett. It seems some people can live without love, while Jessica just can’t get enough.
Mark and Jessica’s honeymoon phase fades long before their wedding day, and once she meets Barnett face to face, it’s clear she’s more attracted to Barnett than Mark. As the couples spend more time together, Jessica pushes Barnett to consider whether he made the right decision, suggesting it’s more of a sexual attraction than an intellectual one. Jessica added, “Nothing will break the bond we had.” Barnett continuously ignores the drunken advances and comments from Jessica.
The engaged women have their bachelorette party together, where Jessica drinks way too much. As she’s slurring to Amber, she says, “I’m in love with my fiance. I’m in love with him. He is the most amazing person I’ve met in my whole life.” A few minutes later, Amber tells Jessica she would beat her up if she made any advancements on Barnett, and then, out of nowhere, Jessica grabs Amber and plants a kiss on her. Not much more comes from the interaction, but the brief moment was enough to shock viewers, myself included.
No surprise Jessica says no on her wedding day, and Amber and Barnett both say yes.
Giannina and Damian’s Wedding S01 E10

After a rather tumultuous start to their relationship, Giannina and Damian somehow make it to their wedding day. However, after an enthusiastic yes from Giannina at the altar, Damian says, “I do not,” rejecting Giannina. He attributes his answer to Giannina’s ups and downs, saying he loves her, but she hasn’t given him the same effort and care he’s given her.
Heartbroken and humiliated, Giannina runs out of the wedding in a white dress and all. She runs barefoot, slipping and falling on a muddy hill before she takes off running on the street sidewalk, crying all the while.
Giannina and Damian hash things out afterward but ultimately can’t have a civilized discussion as Giannina runs away once again.

Though the couple dated after the show, they were not able to overcome their problems and are no longer together.
Shake and Deepti’s Wedding S02 E10

Shake and Deepti had some brief problems but seemed to have a fairly sturdy foundation, that is until they met face to face. Shake wasn’t sexually attracted to Deepti and loved to talk about it. Deepti never commented much on Shake’s mistreatment of her, but we were all rooting for her to say no at the altar.
And she did. Deepti told Shake, “No, I cannot marry you. I deserve somebody who knows for sure. So, I’m choosing myself, and I’m gonna say no.” She walks off and adds in a voiceover that “If he was [the one], he’d make me feel like I was the one, and he never did that.”
Shake reacts in his Shake-way, completely deflecting what just happened, starting to party, and telling guests that he’s relieved Deepti took the pressure off of him.
Yeah, Shake…okay.
Cole and Zanab’s Wedding S03 E11

Cole and Zanab’s inconsistent relationship came to a harsh end on their wedding day. Viewers saw how Cole was more attracted to another cast member, Colleen, than to his own fiance Zanab. However, everyone’s jaw dropped when Zanab said no at the altar.
She didn’t just say no, though. After saying she wasn’t the person Cole needed, Zanab added, “You have disrespected me, you have insulted me, you have critiqued me, and for what it’s worth, you have single-handedly shattered my self-confidence.”
Cole seemed heartbroken, crying to the cameras, saying, “Why has she never said that to my face? She chose now because she knew it would hurt more in front of all my friends and family… She had me fooled big time. I knew we were not perfect but that? It’s one of the worst experiences of my life.”
We got more of a sneak peek into the previously engaged couple’s relationship during the reunion, with Zanab telling everyone Cole controlled her eating habits and got another woman’s number the night of his bachelor party. Cole denied these claims.
Jackie, Josh, and Marshall S04 E08 and E10

The love triangle of season 4. Jackie was seeing both Marshall and Josh but ultimately got engaged to Marshall. It was the beginning of a tumultuous relationship, and Jackie never seemed to be part of the relationship fully.
At another cast member’s birthday party, Josh approaches Marshall and begins making comments about the two men dating the same woman and insinuating he’s going to steal Jackie.
Now this could all be harmful enough, except the fact that Josh does, indeed, steal Jackie.
Marshall is suspicious when Jackie doesn’t show up at the dress fitting for the women, and she breaks up with him soon after and goes on a date with Josh, ending the moment with a kiss shortly after ending things with her former fiance.
These are just a few moments from the show’s current four seasons. What do you think is the most unhinged moment from Love Is Blind?
The less I thought about what may be included in a book with that title, the more surprised I became. The writer has done an excellent job. I took a little break to do some research. There is no ambiguity or confusion. Threads that help you fill up holes in your knowledge are always welcome here. This one fits that description.
