The Office is probably one of the most-streamed shows of all time– and for good reasons. It hits every single emotion you could want, from humorous cringy lines to scenes that pull at your heartstrings. When it was still on Netflix in 2020, subscribers watched a record-breaking 57 billion minutes of The Office.
If you do the math, that’s enough minutes to watch the show from the first episode to the very last, about 12,837,000 times. That’s an insane amount of episodes watched, but even if you’ve watched it ten times over, there’s bound to be some celebrities that guest-starred you forgot about. Here are 15 actors or celebrities that starred in The Office you probably don’t remember
1. Tim Meadows (Season 2, Episode 7 “The Client”)

Tim Meadows is an iconic actor and comedian. He’s been in some great movies like Hubie Halloween, Grown Ups 1 & 2, Mean Girls, and more. He saw screen time on The Office in that iconic scene where Michale and Jan meet with a client at a Chili’s. If you’re having a hard time remembering, do baby back ribs ring a bell?
2. Rob Riggle (Season 2, Episode 11 “Booze Cruise”)

Michael finds himself jockeying for the leader of the booze cruise against Rob Riggle’s character, Captain Jack, played by Rob Riggle. You might remember Rob Riggle from movies like Step Brothers, 21 Jump Street, and The Other Guys as well as the hit TV show Modern Family. Watching Michael try to wrestle control of the night from Captain Jack definitely sets the cringe-o-meter off.
3. Jerome Bettis Sr. (Season 3, Episode 2 “The Convention”)

The famous American football player who was often called “The Bus,” Jerome Bettis, had a small thirty-second appearance on The Office when Michael, Dwight, Jan, Jim, and Josh head to a paper convention. Michael invites him to his party, which Jerome tactfully dodges.

4. Ken Jeong (Season 2, Episode 9 “Email Surveillance”)

Ken Jeong has truly done it all, from practicing medicine as a licensed physician to comedy to being a successful actor. You might remember him as Chow from The Hangover or as Goh Wye Mun in Crazy Rich Asians. His short scene in The Office saw him at Michael’s improv class, where he was held at gunpoint after Michael was specifically instructed not to hold people at gunpoint.
5. Stephen Colbert (Season 9, Episode 5 “Here Comes Treble”)

Stephen Colbert is famous for a number of reasons, but the most prominent reason is his time as the host of The Colbert Report on comedy central. He would be the infamous Broccoli Rob, who was mentioned repeatedly throughout the show but never on screen until the final season. It turns out Broccoli Rob stole all of Andy’s famous stories and he even tries to upstage his signature song via webcam.
6. Will Arnett (Season 7, Episode 25 “Search Committee”)

Fans of Arrested Development, BoJack Horseman, and Murderville will instantly recognize this Canadian actor. The Search Committee episode had a number of cameos like Jim Carrey, Ray Romano, and James Spader, but many forget Will Arnett’s short scenes where he interviews to be the next manager of Dunder Mifflin Scranton.
7. Michael Imperioli (Season 9, Episode 21 “Livin’ the Dream”)

Who could forget the face of Christopher Moltisanti from perhaps the greatest HBO show to date, The Sopranos? Well, if you haven’t watched The Sopranos, you could probably forget his face, but those that have seen it would immediately point at the screen like that meme with Leonardo DiCaprio from Once Upon A Time… in Hollywood. Imperioli plays Sensei Billy and finally gives Dwight his black belt. It’s also the episode where David Wallace finally gives Dwight the manager position.
8. Bob Odenkirk (Season 9, Episode 16 “Moving On”)

That’s right, you might have forgotten that Ol’ Slipping Jimmy from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul had his own little part on The Office. In a scene where Pam is interviewing at a job in Philly to potentially move and be closer to Jim, Bob shows her around her new potential place of employment. It’s at that moment when Pam realizes her new boss is exactly like Michael Scott, and the position is basically a glorified receptionist. Realizing how horrible it would be to go through that again, she declines the job.
9. Melissa Rauch (Season 6, Episode 18 “The Delivery”)

While she was already playing Bernadette on the smash hit show, The Big Bang Theory, Melissa Rauch had a part most people probably missed as she wasn’t as recognizable back then. When Pam is in the hospital with her newborn child, another woman is also put in the same room. That woman is Melissa Rauch. Also, Pam breastfed her baby by mistake; remember that?
10. Warren Buffet (Season 7, Episode 25 “Search Committee”)

We’ve all probably heard the name Warren Buffet at one point or another. He’s a famous businessman and one of the richest men in the world. Despite that, not many people know what he looks like since he’s not exactly an actor or in the public’s view all the time like some billionaires *cough* Elon Musk *cough*. You may have missed how he interviewed to be the new manager of Dunder Mifflin Scranton and haggled about his salary, reimbursement for mileage, and long-distance calls.
11. Dakota Johnson (Season 9, Episode 24 “Finale”)

If you’ve seen Fifty Shades of Grey or The Social Network, you’ve seen Dakota Johnson. She had a small part in the final hourlong episode of the series as Kevin Malone’s replacement. Kevin got fired for cooking the books and using his famous number “keleven” to solve any math he couldn’t figure out. He bought a bar after being fired, with money many believe he siphoned off the books of Dunder Mifflin.
12. Jack Black and Jessica Alba (Season 5, Episode 14 “Stress Relief”)

Many people have repeatedly asked what movie Jim, Pam, and Andy watch with Jack Black and Jessica Alba. Well, you’re in luck, Mrs. Albert Hannaday is the name of the film, and it is about how Jack Black’s character falls in love with his fiance’s elderly grandmother. Actually, you’re not in luck; that movie doesn’t exist, and the scenes were shot solely for The Office– but we did get a pretty cool cameo out of it.
13. Yvette Nicole Brown (Season 3, Episode 14 “The Return”)

You may know her from the TV show Community, but some may recognize her from Drake & Josh, where she played the manager of the movie theater that was a common set in the show. Either way, you may have forgotten that Brown played a small part at the Staples Dwight worked at when he quit his job after refusing to tell Michael why he paid a secret visit to corporate. That secret visit was actually for Angela, who had forgotten to mail documents to corporate.
14. Joan Cusack (Season 9, Episode 24 “Finale”)

As the show was wrapping up loose ends, they decided it would be nice to reunite Erin with her biological parents and close that chapter of the show. Joan Cusack would play her mother in this sweet moment of the show and bring tears to our eyes as we finally get to see Erin with her family she clearly desperately longed for.
15. Evan Peters (Season 7, Episode 1 “Nepotism”)

Evan Peters has arguably one of the most popular actors on the hit TV show American Horror Story, especially his role in the first season as Tate Langdon. Many have forgotten that he guest-starred in an episode of the office back in season 7. All it takes is to bring up Michael’s nephew and a certain spanking to bring back memories of his time on the show. Thanks to his insubordination and Michael’s anger, we get one of the best scenes of the show– the scene where Toby holds therapy sessions with Michael in the break room.
